Wynford at Pontefract

Unfortunately yesterday didn’t go as wished, we knew the course would suit and we had expected the ground to be good given the amount of rain we’ve had but it all appeared to have missed Pontefract! Becky thought given he won on the quick side of good at Beverley it was worth going for it.

Harrison’s thoughts on the race were :

He was never comfortable on the ground from the start constantly changing legs as we entered the first bend. I managed to try to get him to relax a little but he was hanging showing how much he didn’t like it. I got him in a decent position not too far away coming up the hill but we did have to go wide to pass horses. Entering the straight he was in the right spot but just didn’t want to pick up given the ground. Hopefully with the wetter weather coming there will be another win in him.
